
Giannis Georgiou is a cinematographer based in Athens, Greece. A graduate of the Stavrakos Film School with more than a decade of experience in advertising and cinema, he has developed a distinctive, contemporary visual language. Combining international experience with a strong sense of visual storytelling, he continues to explore new forms of imagery, consistently supporting both the creative vision of directors and the needs of the brands he collaborates with.
His work has been awarded and recognized at Cannes Lions, Golden Drum, Epica, LIA Awards, ADC Awards and Ermis Awards, and has been featured in international outlets including Nowness, Shots, Lürzer’s Archive, Adweek and Little Black Book. He has shot campaigns for Louboutin, Betano, Aegean Airlines, Lidl, Ikea, Cosmote, Vodafone, the World Health Organization, UNICEF, National Bank of Greece, Piraeus Bank, Novibet and McDonald's, and has collaborated with directors such as Duncan Winecoff, Augusto Fraga, Lobster Duo, Dennis Iliadis, Gregory Rentis, Danny & Loco, Vasilis Bourantas, Babis Makridis, Konstantina Kotzamani and Akis Polizos. His work also includes collaborations with top Greek and international athletes, such as Giannis Antetokounmpo, Lefteris Petrounias and Miltiadis Tentoglou, as well as the Greek National Basketball Team, the Olympic missions of Greece, and the clubs Olympiacos and Panathinaikos.He has additionally worked in international productions, collaborating with production companies in Mexico, Atlanta (Georgia), Dubai UAE, Lithuania, Serbia, Bulgaria and other countries, further strengthening his experience abroad. In cinema, he has collaborated with Daniel Bolda, Steve Krikris, Justin Tyler Close, Kostas Gerampinis and Akis Polizos on the film "Ludyas," for which he received the Best Cinematography Award from the GSC (Greek Society of Cinematographers) at the Athens Film Festival.
